I had mandrake 9 a while back, but gave up because I had no clue how to use it, I stuck with windows XP until today. I just downloaded SUSE 10.1 and I love it. 1000

especially the XGL desktop effects settings and the beagle indexing (destroys windows in the speed dept). linux is now powerful and beautiful. what more could a guy want?

I just stopped by cause I thought of Craig when I got linux up and running. keep up the good work all you FDLlug guys!

My name is Dave Brixius and I live here in FDL. I am a junior in CS at UW-Milwaukee. I am also the vice president of the

IEEE-Computer Society chapter there. Once or twice per semester we reserve a classroom and sponser linux install seminars for anyone who is interested (http://ieeecs.soc.uwm.edu/). We recently started doing this and our distribution of choice is currently Fedora Core 5.0.

I am interested in learning more about Linux in FDL and getting to know the members of this group. I missed the June meeting but will try to make the July one once the date is posted. Please feel free to send me an e-mail at [email protected] and introduce yourself. I look forward to meeting everyone!
